Thai Restaurant [ projects, , interior ]
Instead of creating a theme park situation, usually seen in shopping malls, our design features an Asian like urban atmosphere characterized by a landscape-like ceiling and minimal furniture for seating and eating.
It is a self service restaurant submitted to a big traffic therefore the furniture is scarce and functional. The black floor gives a backdrop to the wooden ceiling. The ceiling is lowered where a support and the ceiling meet to provide the space for lighting fixtures. The material used is untreated white poplar plywood, CNC cut and assembled on site. Chairs and tables are laminated with wenge wood.
Such a ceiling allows simple maintenance of the installation, ventilation, lighting, drainage system, since the kitchen is located above in the mezzanine.
